Located within the grounds of Newbattle Abbey and a mere seven miles from Edinburgh, Newbattle is provides a delightful, honest test of your skills. The old market town of Dalkeith is the nearest major habitation to the course.
The first two and the last two holes are laid out along a ridge on which the clubhouse stands and on the lower ground along the River Esk. The remainder of the course is on the east side of the river, which is crossed by the centuries old Maiden Bridge.
Newbattle is enclosed on every side by woods, which, particularly in Autumn, are a delight to the eye and contribute to an atmosphere of sedate seclusion.
Newbattle Golf Club is a mature 18 hole parkland course with tree lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The layout of the course, with its well-protected greens, offers a challenge to every golfer.
The course is a 6025 yard par 69 which is renowned for the exceptional standards of its greens and fairways.
The club is in a truly wonderful setting and is a “must play” for anyone visiting Edinburgh and the Lothians. It offers first class changing facilities for visiting golfers and a well stocked Professional shop.
The clubhouse has an inviting bar and has established an excellent reputation for its cuisine, offering a varied menu choice which caters for snacks and main meals.
