Description:	Di Gilpin has been a designer handknitter since the early 1980's drawing inspiration and source material from travels near and far, from the landscape, colour and ever-changing light of Skye - her home, and from artinisal objects and artifacts - especially the kelims and weavings of the East. She has appeared on BBC Breakfast Time TV, featured in Country Living and in Vogue knitting. Her work is included in The International Textile Design Book 1996 "it is the unexpected in pattern, colour and texture which makes her work immediately
