Abbey Golf Club in the heart of the Scottish Highlands is home to the Scottish Creature, the Haggis, Hamish Macdonald head of the Clan Created this Course as the true breeding home to this very fine creature, many can still be seen grazing on the hills
ok This is not a real Golf Course !
further.....
The haggis is a small furry creature, once common in Scotland. Few are seen in the wild now, partly because there aren't many left, but mainly because they travel very fast.
Being basically tartan in appearance, they made a rather obvious target to hungry Scotsmen.
Hibernating during the summer didn't help either.
The haggis has unusually long legs for it's size. Due to their great speed, Haggis legs tended to break rather easily.
The modern haggis is born with wooden legs. (It makes amputations so much easier.)
This, however, has its drawbacks. A bored Scotsman once discovered that if you take a haggis, drill a few holes in one of its legs, then try to blow air through the newly-drilled leg, whilst squeezing it hard under one arm, a loud screeching noise was produced. (As one does, under such circumstances.)
Thus the Bagpipes were born.
